How to introduce a new front-end platform halfway through a redesign

        circa 2023

        Prompt Engineering E-Commerce

A mid-market home furnishings retailer needed to integrate a product discovery platform into its merchandising flow. The UI developers broke everything. Then I arrived.

        User Experience and Design

The project stared as an SAP Commerce platform upgrade with a site redesign. This retailer had tested designs on it customers. Marketing and the C-Suite approved the designs to ensure everything was on-brand. The client had a loosely defined design library.

Early in the project the client decided to replace most of its hybris components with Bloomreach, which enabled personalized product discovery. The architect at the incumbent consultancy neither paused nor pivoted.

All the design work was done in AdobeXD and the content management platform was SAPHybris. The front-end development team struggled to integrate the designs into the front end.

        My Contributions

        • Obtained client approval by prompt engineering and "vibe-coding" front-end CSS and HTML
        • Collaborated with front-end devs to ensure designs were matched
